DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF POLYLACTIDE BASED NANOFIBROUS pH INDICATOR

In this study, a colorimetric pH indicator was developed using nanofibrous mats of polylactide (PLA) including turmeric, natural dye. Firstly, were produced by dissolving PLA at different concentrations in chloroform (CHL)/dimethylformamide (DMF) various volume ratios, and morphological analysis performed. Subsequently, turmeric added concentration 2% wt. to the polymer solution having 10% 75/25 CHL/DMF, indicators produced. Then, containing immersed into buffer solutions (pH 1, 4, 7 10), color variations measured spectrophotometer. It foreseen that have potential be used intelligent food packaging applications.
